My Favorite Running Shoes

When you get started running, it may seem overwhelming to choose a running shoe. There are SO many options, there are so many brands — how do you find what works for you?

It’s important to understand that choosing the right running shoe is a more personal experience than other fitness gear. There are shoes made for every part of your running journey: speed, distance, beginners, overpronators (shoes made for extra stability), and more.

If you don’t know what kind of shoe you’re looking for, a great place to start is visiting a specialty running store. These stores will have you run on a treadmill and identify the shoe best for your feet and your goals!

If that’s not possible, you can start with a neutral everyday trainer and upgrade as your running goals evolve.

Below I’ve outlined some shoes I love for walks and runs!

Brooks Everyday Trainer – $89

I love these Brooks trainers. They’re SO LIGHT and comfortable. They feel almost cloud-like. They’re also really bouncy and absorbent for all foot types and strides!

Nike Trail Shoe – $130

These Nike shoes are cute and very light. I love how grippy they are for trail or outdoor runs off of the pavement. They’re also pretty sleek rather than bulky!

Adidas Ultra Boost – $180

I KNOW these are a bit pricy for a running shoe, but TRUST me! They’re amazing for running, long travel days and heavy walking days like Disney. They are soooo cute and have amazing cushion and support.

ASICS Neutral Runner – $120

These shoes are perfect beginner running shoes. They’re a neutral runner, so they aren’t made for any specific running needs. But, they’re super soft and supportive!
