After my recent failed embryo transfer [ you can read more about my transfer day experience here ], I’m working on getting back into my regular routine. Many of you know I cherish my mornings — they’re my time to work out, drink coffee, and get organized for the day before mom and business life begins.
I’ve put together some of my key tips for becoming a morning person — I hope you’ll join me in making some small adjustments in order to find time for YOU!
Have Something To Look Forward To
I usually wake up at 4:30 a.m., get dressed in some cute workout gear, and make my pre-workout. My house is dark and quiet. I love this time of day. It’s so peaceful! Find something that works for you — coffee, tea, a fun workout, or just peace and quiet!
Start The Same Every Morning
Doing the same thing every day will signal to your brain that you are getting ready for XYZ. As I mix my pre-workout, I usually hope on Instagram to say good morning then check in with my Fit Camp girls. At this point my brain knows, it’s time to workout. Even if I’m feeling sleepy, my mind and body are getting ready.
Follow A Simple Routine
I like to keep my routine under 5 steps — anymore starts to feel like a chore. My routine looks something like this:
- Visualizing Affirmations
- Pre Workout Mix + Workout
- Read Scripture & Devotional for the day
- Listen to Personal Growth Audiobook
- Sip coffee while reviewing my calendar & to-do list for the day
Go To Bed Early
FORCE yourself to go to bed an hour earlier to start. Eat early as a family if possible. Put on PJs when kids get into the bath. Clean kitchen after bedtime routine. Watch one show if there’s time. Get into bed with a book and meditate before going to sleep. No phones. Go to bed!
Set Yourself Up For Success
Prep the night before. Lay out your workout clothes. Prep the space you’re going to sit in the next morning. Have dishes done and ready to jump right into your routine first thing in the morning.
Join me as I follow these steps and slowly get back to normalcy after a crazy month.
